The Ramblers
Association
As a
registered charity, the Ramblers’
Association operates both on a local and national level and aims to encourage
walking, protect and maintain rights of way, increase access on foot to
uncultivated land and defend the beauty of the countryside.
Whether it’s the knowledge that you
will be helping to safeguard Britain’s countryside or the great range of
benefits that appeals, please give your support and help us to protect the pathways you love
today, and the ones we’ll help you discover
tomorrow.
We have 137,000 members in
450 groups across the country. Many members join simply to show their support for our work, but many others are also active in working and
campaigning locally. Members also take part in organised walks, receive copies
of the quarterly Rambler magazine and the Rambler’s Yearbook and
Accommodation Guide.
Walking with your local
Ramblers Group is a great way to explore your local environment. Ramblers walks
leaders often know how to get to the most interesting places so you can enjoy the benefits of walking without the worries of getting lost or planning
a route.
Walks programmes are
supplemented by a range of social activities. Just contact the local group to find out what the Group is doing – you can be sure of
a friendly welcome.
We are a democratic,
voluntary organisation, registered as a charity (no. 1093577) and as a company
limited by guarantee (registered in England and Wales, no. 4458492). We are not
affiliated to any political party and are required by our constitution to be
non-sectarian.
